He is the first Premier League manager to be dismissed this season and the 13th change since the Pozzo family took over at Watford in 2012. Italy's Claudio Ranieri, who led Leicester City to the Premier League title in 2016, was the bookmakers' early favorite.
Munoz was disappointed with Watford's performance in the loss to Leeds
In their stew, Watford started their first season in the top division with a 3-2 win over Aston Villa. The club also beat Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in the second round.
However, results have started to fall short with just two championship wins in seven games this season, and they made it through to the Carabao Cup third round with a 3-1 loss to Stoke in September. Watford will play for the championship against Liverpool on October 16 after the international break.
