Beijing: Amid rumors of a coup in China, a video of Chinese
President Xi Jinping, said to be from a demonstration in Beijing, is going
viral. It is being claimed that this video is from Tuesday. Chinese President
Xi Jinping has been seen in public for the first time since returning from the
SCO meeting in Uzbekistan.
In fact, after Xi Jinping returned from the SCO meeting in
Samarkand, he was not seen at any public forum, after which rumors started
circulating on social media. There was a rumor that the army had revolted in
China. Many were even claiming that Xi Jinping had been removed from the post
of party chairman. There were also rumors that Xi Jinping may not begin his
third term on October 16 and that someone else may be installed as president.
Xi Jinping and some officials are seen in the video. The
video is claimed to have been shot at a demonstration held in Beijing.
While rumors of a coup in China were in full swing, some reports
also claimed that the Chinese president was quarantined after returning from
Samarkand, as China has strict Covid rules for people arriving from abroad.
Anyone coming to China from a foreign country will have to stay in quarantine
for a few days under the guidelines. However, there is no official information
yet on whether the Chinese President was quarantined or not. Chinese state
media kept silent on the matter from the beginning.
Rumors about the president in China started when Zhao
Longjian, a Chinese journalist who fled China and reached America, said on
Twitter that flights in China had been suddenly cancelled. The journalist's
claim gained traction on social media after media outlets supporting China's
spiritual movement, Falgun Gong, began picking it up. Meanwhile, a video was
also shared on Twitter in which a large number of army trucks were seen going
on the road. There were fears that something big was about to happen in
Beijing, so a large number of army personnel were deployed.
