Police are preparing to arrest Will Smith at the Oscars after the actor met comedian Chris Rock on stage, the show's producers said. In his first interview since Sunday's show, Will Packer said officers asked Rock if there was anything he wanted to do.

But the star "strongly turned down" the offer; Packer told ABC TV. Instead, Smith apologized for hitting Roca for joking about his wife Jada while Oscar organizers and packers screened for their response. In a video from the interview published by ABC's Good Morning America, producers describe conversations between Rock and Los Angeles police after the incident.

"They said, you know, that was it – battery was the word they used at the time. They said, "We'll get him. We're ready. We're up and running. You can sue him; we can arrest him. fine." He said, "No, no, no." Even until I said, "Rock, let them end." "Another Los Angeles cop explained his options to him and said, 'Do you want to do something?' And he said, 'No.' He said no."

After the film awards ceremony concluded on Sunday, a police spokesman said: "The person concerned refused to report it to the police. "If the parties involved want a police report at a later date, the LAPD is available to complete an investigative report." Full interview with Packer, the producers of the 2015 Oscar-nominated film Straight Outta Compton and Girls Trip 2017" will premiere later on Friday.

There have been conflicting reports about the producer's role in Smith, who stayed at the Dolby Theater shortly after the infamous slap in the face to receive his Best Actor award. Variety says Packer entered the audience and spoke to Smith - but reports differ as to whether or not Packer asked Smith to stay.

However, the situation looks different." The organization has started disciplinary proceedings against Smith, and his board of directors will meet on April 18 to discuss what action to take.

This may include "termination, expulsion or other sanctions as permitted by law and standards of conduct," he said. Rock said Wednesday, embracing the final part of his US tour in Boston, he's "still working on what's going on." Rock, which was met with applause from fans, also denied some reports in the American media that he spoke to Smith after the incident.
