- Four years prior, Grace Davies sang her unique tune at an X Factor tryout.
The track - Roots - got her seen by the adjudicators; she became one of the stars of the 2017 series and made it right to the last, where she came second place. Yet, the 24-year-old from Blackburn has just now delivered the tune that put her on the map.
"It's been four years taking shape," she tells Radio 1 Newsbeat. "It seems like an enormous load off my shoulders yet additionally the most astonishing thing that is at any point occurred," she says. After her series of X-Factor, Grace was endorsed to Simon Cowell's music mark Syco, where she had the arrangement to deliver a collection. So I was somewhat kept down for a long time," she says. The entire experience has finished - at long last - in the arrival of her unique track, Roots, which she initially wrote in around 40 minutes. "It's a truly clashing melody for me since I composed it about venturing out from home, moving to London of do music full time, and unexpectedly I'm back in my old neighborhood."
