Twitter confirms they are working on an edit button.

Twitter has confirmed that they are working on an edit button that will allow users to modify a tweet once it has been posted. This comes after a new board member, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, asked his followers if they wanted the feature in a Twitter poll.
The social media company's communications team tweeted, "Now everyone's asking... yep, we're working on an edit feature from last year! "No, we didn't get the idea from the survey," he added. "We're starting testing at @TwitterBlue Labs over the coming months to determine what works, what doesn't, and what does." Users of Twitter Blue, the platform's subscription service, will get early access to tested features.
Under the editing function, users can correct misspellings or tweets without losing the replies, retweets, or likes earned.
In atopic Tuesday, Jay Sullivan, vice president of the consumer goods company, said it was "the most coveted feature on Twitter in years." Twitter said it was working on the edit button before Elon Musk was appointed to the board. But it seems Tesla bosses have delayed the process.
Twitter polls are known to be unscientific - but Musk seems to be making an objective decision based on their results. In November last year, he asked his 80 million followers if he should sell his 10% stake in Tesla. The poll concluded he had to, and he did.
Musk's request for an edit button on Twitter was taken seriously by the Twitter CEO. This indeed suggests that Twitter will now try to change its policies in this area based on the poll results.
Mr. Musk had a significant impact on Twitter overnight - and he seems to be allowing his followers to choose which approach they want to take. It was memorial day; who knows what else he could do in this powerful new position.
