Russia on Tuesday declared Facebook's parent company Meta a 'terrorist and extremist organization'. The reaction from Russia comes after heightened tensions in the Russia-Ukraine war.
A social media platform owned by Mark Zuckerberg has been indicted by a Moscow court for extremist activities. Meta is also accused of inciting people in Ukraine for violent social media content against Russians.
Meta's lawyer denied all the allegations in court and said the company was not involved in any such extremist activities against Russians. Russia has declared tech giant Meta as "terrorist and extremist" in its Federal Service for Financial Monitoring database.
Earlier, Russia had bombed Ukraine calling the explosion on the Crimean bridge a terrorist plot. After this bombing, Ukraine called Russia a terrorist country.
