from India. Armenia will buy Pinaka launchers along with missiles, rockets and
ammunition worth 2 thousand crore rupees from India.
A deal with India
would strengthen Armenia's military power. Also the arms industry in India will
also get a boost. First of all India will send Pinaka multi barrel rocket
launcher. It has been developed by the Defense Research and Development
Organization (DRDO) of the Ministry of Defence. Significantly, Armenia will be
the first foreign country to receive the Indian Pinaka rocket system.
35 thousand crore business target by 2025
This deal in the
defense sector from Armenia is leading to an increase in arms exports to India.
The Indian government has set a target of selling arms worth 35 thousand crore
rupees by 2025. According to a
report, in 2021, India has sold arms
worth 13 thousand crore
rupees.
Pinaka Missile
This is the third version
of Pinaka missile developed in the country. The first two versions had a range
of 40 and 75 kilo meter. Advanced navigation and control system has
been installed in this missile. This made the firepower very accurate.
During the Kargil War
Pinaka launched heavy attacks on
Pakistani troops occupying the hills. Pinaka hit the target with a
truck-mounted launcher. 12 rockets can be launched in 44 seconds.
Pinaka Mark-1 helped in the Kargil
War
The Pinaka Mark 1 version was used by the Indian Army during the Kargil War.
