Olivier Awards: Eddie Redman Cabaret tops nominations
Written byTimes Magazine
Eddie Redmayne, Lily Allen, Emma Corinne, Jesse Buckley, and Beverly Knight are nominated for the Best West End Theater Awards.
A new production of musical Cabaret, starring Redmain and Buckley, topped the Olivier Award nominations with 11. This was followed by The Life of Pi's bestselling adaptation, and the revival of Anything Goes at Nine. Alan and Corinne were nominated for Best Actress in a Drama, and Knight competed for Best Actress in a Musical.
Allen, who has assembled a name for himself as a singer, also recently won an acting award from website WhatsOnStage for his big-screen debut in the thriller 2:22 - A Ghost Story.
Best known for her role like Princess Diana on Netflix's The Crown, Corinne has been nominated for Anna X, a drama inspired by the story of "false heir" Anna Sorokin. The pair are joined by Cush Jumbo, who was nominated for the role of Hamlet, and Sheila Atim for the parallel universe romantic comedy Constellation.
Other nominations include the seven cast members who directed the stuffed tiger in Pi's Life, which shares the Best Supporting Actor nomination.
