No regrets! A pandemic purchase that makes us happy

Lockdown has been an alienating experience for many, but for John Emery, it was an excellent opportunity to make new friends at home and abroad. Maintenance workers have always been interested in radio amateurs, but the pandemic restrictions allowed him to live his hobby to the fullest.
He managed to save enough money to be able to buy the necessary equipment. Moreover, since the radio exam was forced online, he also had time to qualify fully. He has joined a radio club and regularly speaks with other radio amateurs across Europe.
"I've made a new friend," said the 55-year-old from Derbyshire. "It has helped us live on our own, and there are hundreds of people who have done the same."
However, not all are so positive about their pandemic purchases. A study by insurance company Aviva, reported by News, showed that one in ten people suffered from buyer remorse for the goods they purchased during the blockade.
Playground equipment, do-it-yourself kits, exercise bikes, bicycles, clothing and jewelry, musical instruments, bakery-like kitchen appliances, patio furniture, pizza ovens, and hot tubs all appeared on the insurance list company said.

On the other hand, if one in ten people think their purchase was a mistake, that means nine out of ten people are more than happy with what they bought. When we asked about your story, many people told the they were happy with their new stuff.
Among those who contact each other is Anna Tun, who has two opposite hobbies at home - knitting and body pumping. As a nurse on the NHS, Tun has a stressful job but says she gets a little bored during the blockade at home.
The 50-year-old woman living in Kent says the light exercise equipment she uses while teaching online is worth every penny and has helped maintain her exercise routine during her stay at home. Her husband, Bob, was so impressed that he took it too.
And knitting? Miss Tune has never tried a new hobby inspired by a friend after failing to take her to school. "I think talent skips a generation, but it relieves the boredom, and I feel very relaxed. I can't stop now," he said. Results include blankets for birthdays and the newborns of friends.
