In a mega-raid in Ludhiana, Punjab, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) dismantled an international terror network and seized 66 liquor stores in which drug lord Akshay Chhabra has a 25% stake. Huge amount of drugs recovered
The officer further revealed that they seized 34,466 kg of heroin, 5,470 kg of morphine, 557 grams of opium and 23,645 kg of suspected narcotic powder and arrested 16 people. These three rings, in which this international drug syndicate had invested money, were frozen by the NCB Chandigarh Zonal Unit on January 20,” read an official statement.
The NCB official said in Mohali that the action against the heroin smuggling syndicate began on November 15 last year with the seizure of the illegal substance and the arrest of the person, PTI reported. On November 15, 2022, the NCB arrested Chhabara's close associate Sandeep Singh in Ludhiana with 20,326 kg of heroin.
According to the officials, the investigation has also revealed that this group operated nightclubs and restaurants in Chandigarh Tricity, Mohali and Panchkula. consult.
