John Mayer remembers waking up "Crying Like a Baby" after dreaming about his late friend Bob Saget.

"I looked up at him and said, 'You should know how much I love you,'" John Mayer said of his dream during Netflix's Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute.

The 44-year-old Grammy winner recalled a recent dream about a comedian who died in January at the age of 65 while starring with some of his closest friends on the Netflix show Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute.

"I had a dream that night and woke up crying because I saw Bob," Mayer said. "It was young Bob, and we were going to a restaurant. I knew it too, and he didn't. I looked straight at him and said, "You should know how much I love you." He said, "Yeah, I know. Good. "

Mayer said she "naturally woke up and cried like a baby" but found that she was still talking to Saget.

"I remember I had to sleep because I had something significant the next day, and I said out loud, 'I love you, Bob, but I have to sleep.' And I heard him say, 'Go back to sleep..', go back to sleep.' You need to sleep. You have to. You have things tomorrow. You need to sleep," he said in his best impression of Saget.

"And it's nothing but a miracle when he's around," Mayer added. "And that's what I learned. It's not a jump to go from here to there. Because there's no other access to our loved ones while they're around than when they're here, the magic of Bob Saget continues to work for me."

Meyer also revealed his "impossible" friendship with Saget during the special and why they got along so well. Noting that Saget was loved by everyone because "he accepted us," the musician went on to say how he felt about having a "clean card" with the actor.

"I got to have my unique relationship with him, and I think he has his unique relationship with me because I'm not a comedian," she said. "Bob likes me because I'm already a poet," I say a useless metaphor that only makes sense to me, but Bob does it in a way that only makes sense to him, and for some reason like this: "Yes, you are with me."

Mayer continues, "The magic of relationships tells us the truth about it and its reality... Why else would I hang out with Bob Saggett if I don't love everything about him on a physical and metaphysical level?"
