John Isner extended his record by winning his 499th career tiebreak

Ohn Isner improved his record by winning his 499th career overtime and reached his hometown Dallas Open quarterfinals on Thursday with a 6-3, 7-6(1) win over Daniel Altmaier.
Isner had the only save of the game, leading 4-2 in the first set before finishing the set with her serve.
The second-round win came after Isner won both overtimes in straight sets against Chun-Hsin Tseng. Isner scored the last six points of the second overtime against Tseng with a great serve.
Roger Federer is second in overtime with 466.
Isner meets Emilio Gomez who beat fourth-seeded Miomir Kecmanovic 2-6 7-6(4) 6-4.
No. 8 Adrian Mannarino of Italy advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 7-6 (3) win over Australia's Jordan Thompson.
Mannarino meets China's Yibing Wu who defeated third seed Denis Shapovalov of Canada 7-6(1), 6-4.
US top seed Taylor Fritz met wildcard Jack Sock for a spot in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Isner led 3-1 in overtime when Altmaier conceded a second straight point on his volley serve against Isner, but sent wide and the frustrated German hit his racquet.
After scoring an ace and stealing Isner, Altmaier went wide with a match point. "I just played a really good tiebreak to win the game and I also played a really good tiebreak in my first round win," said Isner, whose home is a few blocks away at an indoor arena the SMU campus.
