Hazel O'Connor: The singer was hospitalized after suffering a brain hemorrhage

Singer, songwriter, and actress Hazel O'Connor was rushed to hospital after suffering a "brain hemorrhage," her family said. He was hurried to hospital from his home in southwestern France on January 9 following a "serious medical event" also spent 24 hours in a coma.

His brother Neil O'Connor posted that he had "shown a lot of progress" since then. Tour dates organized for February to June have been pushed back. The singer, best known for '80s hits Eighth Day and Will You, put on his only show for 2021 in his hometown of Coventry as part of the British City Culture Festival.

In the 1980s, he co-starred in Breaking Glass with Phil Daniels and Jonathan Price, with their debut album accompanying the soundtrack. The 40th-anniversary tour was postponed in March after being pushed back to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ticket holders are asked to wait for additional messages.

The planned dates for the joint tour with Toyah Wilcox dubbed the Electric Ladies of the 80s, remain unchanged, his management said. "We will consider Hazel's health as the sole determining factor on these dates," he said in a statement on his website. "It takes time to recover, but it's tough and responsive to stimulation and medication," her brother said.
