Harassment Case Against Lizzo Dismissed by Court

The stylist had accused Lizzo and her management team of racial and sexual harassment during her 2023 tour. However, the case will proceed against Lizzo’s production company, not the artist personally. In a significant legal development, Lizzo achieved a key victory in her ongoing legal battle with Asha Daniels, her former wardrobe assistant. Daniels had filed a lawsuit alleging racial and sexual harassment, as well as a hostile work environment and unpaid overtime during Lizzo's 2023 tour.
A Los Angeles federal judge ruled that Lizzo could not be sued personally, instead designating her touring and payroll companies as Daniels' employers. However, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. remains a defendant. Additionally, the judge dismissed claims related to Daniels' work in Europe, where U.S. employment laws do not apply
