Influential French street artist Miss Tick died in Paris at 66, her family has announced.

In a brief statement, his family said the artist, whose real name was Radhya Novat, died on Sunday of an unspecified illness.

Miss Tick is considered one of the pioneers of patterned art, and graffiti depicting mysterious women has become a common sight in Paris.

But his work is exhibited in galleries in France and abroad. She has also worked with fashion brands Kenzo and Louis Vuitton. France's newly appointed Culture Minister, Roms Abdul Malak, wrote on Twitter, praising Tick's "iconic, deeply feminist" work and saying he would "sing our streets for a long time."

And street artist Christian Gumi, nicknamed C215, describes him as "one of the founders of template art." Paris' 13th arrondissement walls - where his image is a common sight - "will never be the same," he wrote on Twitter.

Street Art: Evil, Dirt, or Greatness?

Miss Tick was born in the Montmartre district of Paris in 1956 to a Tunisian immigrant father and a Norman mother.

He studied applied arts and street theater before moving to California. "I have experience in street theater, and I love this idea of ​​street art," he said in a 2011 interview with AFP.

At first, I thought, "I'm going to write poetry." And then "we need pictures" with these poems. "I started with self-portraits and then moved on to other women," she says.

His family has announced that his funeral, the date of which has not yet been announced, will be made public.
