EastEnders: Danny Dyer will leave soap operas later this year

Actor Danny Dyer will leave EastEnders later this year, the confirms. Dyer, who plays Queen Vic owner Mick Carter, didn't give up right away, and the promised "very explosive drama" before he left. EastEnders said that Dyer, who attended the show in 2013, made Mick Carter an "iconic figure" for whom "we will always be grateful."
"Danny will leave Eastenders when his contract expires later this year," the statement said. "However, we're not going to say goodbye yet, as there's still a long way to go - and very explosive drama for Mick - before he leaves Walford.
Since then, Mick has remained behind the bar at the Queen Victoria Pub and is married to Linda Carter, played by Kelly Bright. Kelly Bright and Danny Dyer as Linda and Mick Carter. An EastEnders source said, "Danny decided to leave this year's show a while back, which gave the bosses ample time to plan a big plot for him."
The source added that Dyer's character would be "at the heart of some great dramas" with the return of his big-screen wife this year. Dyer, 44, won three National Television Awards for a drama series for his role.
Before joining EastEnders, Dyer was best known for his roles in British films such as Mean Machine and The Football Factory. He also starred in his television series Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men. In 2017 he appeared on the episode of Who Do You Think You Are? where he learns that he is related to the king.
Dyer discovered that he was descended from William the Conqueror, Edward III, and Thomas Cromwell.
