E3: Gaming Convention cancels a private event due to Covid

For the third year in a row, the Grand E3 Video Game Convention will not be held in person in LA in June 2022.
The decision was due to health risks related to Covid-19 and the "safety of exhibitors and exhibitors," said the organizers of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
Since 1995, E3 has brought the entire gaming industry together to spark anticipation for its upcoming release.
This allows the world's largest game developers to showcase their projects. ESA added that "they are very excited about the future of E3 and look forward to sharing more details soon" - but made no mention of any other digital events this year.
Journalists, YouTubers, and gaming enthusiasts flocked to the convention for a glimpse of the future.
This reporting and subsequent online discussion played an essential role in deciding which new titles and technologies were critically and financially successful. The Nintendo Wii is seen for the first time, the PlayStation 4 is announced, and classic games like Halo 2 are visualized.
The cancellation of this year's private event came much earlier than the decision to do the same in 2020 and 2021, and now some questions are raised about the future of congress.
In recent years, its influence has gradually waned as significant gaming companies such as Electronic Arts and PlayStation decided not to participate and instead hosted their events. The lack of personal convention is a missed opportunity for E3 to maintain its relevance.
With game developers and publishers now in near-constant dialogue with gamers worldwide via social media, streaming sites, and YouTube, some argue that conventions like the old E3 are no longer necessary.
However, organizers hope that the reputation the convention has built over decades and that it is seen as an ambitious event for many industry professionals will be enough to reclaim it in the future.
