Caeleb Dressel says he's disappointed with Tokyo's performance despite gold

The champion told Graham Bensinger that although he has set a record on his multiple gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, he still "has not scored any of my goals."

Caleb Dressel won over millions of fans across the United States last summer when he won five Olympic gold medals, making him the fifth American in singles since 1970.

But she's still not satisfied with her performance, the Olympic swimmer revealed in a new interview for In Depth with Graham Bensinger.

"I didn't score a single goal in Tokyo," said Dressel, 25. "Yes." And that's not fair to me. That's not fair at all. It's like I've just won five gold medals on the biggest stage in the world. I think how I wish I could be faster at certain events." His coach Greg Troy, who also attended the interview, said he was used to it. "trying to motivate someone to be better than they think they are." Still, with Dressel "you have someone as good or better than someone else. They never think it's good enough."

Dressel replied, "I think it makes me great, but I think it could also be disastrous if I want to live a long life in the sport," including panic attacks and depression, which he overcame as a graduate.

"I don't want to do anything - I don't go to school, I don't swim," said the athlete.

With the support and encouragement, Dressel finds tools to help her through those dark times. "By being patient and sticking with people I like to talk to, I feel more human and comfortable in the situation," explains Dressel.
