Brenda Edwards said her son Jamal died of an abnormal heart rhythm after taking recreational drugs.
Brenda Edwards, a singer and participant in the Loose Women discussion said Tuesday that she was "shocked" after learning how she died.
"I learned with sadness that the cause of Jamal's devastating death was an abnormal heart rhythm," he wrote.
"[It] was because I took drugs for fun and wanted to reach out to everyone who loves, admires, and respects my son.
"I've been in shock since hearing the news, and I'm still trying to process it.
"But it was essential that I reached out to her because no mother or loved one has to go through what Jamal's sister and I, Tanisha, have been going through since her death." The 53-year-old man tweeted after the examination. Jamal's death was discovered and adjourned to the Coroner's Court in west London.
Edwards described his son as having "a world within reach - a passion for life and was unknowingly taken too early."
"However, we have to come to terms with what happened, and Jamal is proof that this can happen to anyone."
"This type of substance is highly unpredictable, and we can only hope it will encourage others to think carefully about similar situations in the future. Unfortunately, his death shows that any wrong decision can have devastating consequences at any opportunity.
"It's essential to help talk more about the unpredictability of drugs for entertainment and the effects they can have - how it takes only one adverse reaction to destroy a life.
Brenda Edwards, a former X Factor contestant, recently returned to the Loose Women panel, replacing Gemma Collins in the new production of the musical Chicago.
