Written byTimes Magazine
American actor and comedian Bob Saget is remembered as a friend and co-actor who was "sweet, kind, happy" on his sitcom Full House. In a statement, the television family said they would now "mourn as a family" after his death at 65.
"He is a brother to us, a son, a father to us, a daughter and a friend to us all," they wrote. Other accolades have come from celebrities, including Pete Davidson, Adam Sandler, and Jimmy Kimmel.
On his talk show on Monday, an emotional Kimmel said: "If you read about Bob online last night, if you look at any of the many thoughts from people who know him personally, a word that comes up frequently is the funniest. "Bob is the cutest. He's the funniest guy ever, and people are writing this because it's true. That's the best word. It would be the most comic if you had to choose a comment to describe it.
"I've received so many very friendly and supportive texts, emails, and calls from Bob. He always gets compliments. Sometimes he texts me just to let me know he loves me, and I know he does for many people.
Saget was found inappropriate Sunday in his room at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida. He played Danny Tanner, a widowed father of three daughters, on Full House from 1987 to 1995 and reprised the role in 2016 when Netflix revived the program for five more seasons.
A cast statement said: "35 years ago we came together like a television family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family. "Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow with sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, friendly, happy Bob.
"He is a brother to us, a son, a father to us, a daughter, and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you so much. We pray to honor Bob, hug your loved ones given a better hug from Bob. "
