Bafta Awards 2022: Stars prepare to return for live awards
Written byTimes Magazine
The Bafta Film Awards came later, returning to full face-to-face ceremonies. Last year's event was subdued, with many nominees showing up via Zoom amid strict Covid-19 restrictions. But the stars will return to the Royal Albert Hall this year for a ceremony hosted by comics actress Rebel Wilson.
The science-fiction saga Dune topped the nominations, followed by the intense western The Power of the Dog and Sir Kenneth Branagh's autobiographical Belfast.
The Bafta Film Awards take place on the same day as the Critics' Choice Awards in Los Angeles. So the nominated stars both have to choose which ceremony they want to attend. The Critics' Choice Awards are not traditionally as prestigious as Bafta, but its location may make it a more attractive option for nominees in the United States.

Notable omissions in the nominations include Coleman; Kristen Stewart, who played Princess Diana in Spencer; and Sir Kenneth, nominated for screenwriter but failed to win Best Director.
There will be no scholarships or other lifetime achievement awards after last year's winner, Noel Clark, accused multiple women of sexual harassment following his win. Clark said he "deeply regrets" some of his actions but vehemently denies any sexual misconduct.
