Finding out I had cancer just as I was preparing to give birth was a life-altering and overwhelming experience. It was supposed to be the happiest time of my life—awaiting the arrival of my baby. But instead, I faced a harsh and unexpected reality. I had always taken good care of my health, so the diagnosis came as a complete shock.
It all started with some routine medical tests during my pregnancy. Initially, I dismissed any concerns, thinking it was just a precaution. But when the results came back, I was stunned to learn that I had cancer. The emotional turmoil of learning about the diagnosis while also preparing to become a mother was indescribable. I was terrified for my baby, uncertain of how to handle both my health crisis and the joy of motherhood at the same time.
Through this challenging time, my doctors provided incredible support, guiding me through options and offering both medical and emotional support. I chose a treatment plan that would keep both my health and my pregnancy a priority, finding a delicate balance between my physical well-being and my commitment to being there for my baby.
Looking back, it was a test of strength, resilience, and hope. This experience taught me to never take life for granted and to appreciate each moment, no matter how difficult. It was an incredibly tough chapter, but one that helped shape who I am today.
